Inishfree charges from April 10
Per Day Per Week
Rent: £14.70 £102.90
Food and household items: £ 5.30 £ 37.10
Services: £ 1.00 £ 7.00
Total £21.00 £147.00
We expect clients to be entitled to Housing Benefit and to Income Support or Employment Support Allowance which will normally cover the above costs.
If clients are not entitled to benefits they will need to find private funding or other statutory funding to cover these costs.
Each client also needs £20.50 for personal spending each week, which again normally comes out of their Income Support or Employment Support Allowance.
Any money left from their benefits after all charges have been taken out is a contribution of the client towards his/her personal therapy, and other expenses like phone calls and transport and activities.
We charge a nominal fee of £45 per week for the following therapies:
- 1 hour of counselling per week
- 4 hours of therapeutic group work per week
- 1 hour of artistic therapy per week
- 1 hour of movement therapy per week (Eurythmy therapy)
- 1 hour of massage per week (according to suitability)
Not being able to raise the funds for the therapies will not prevent admission to the programme. However, we expect clients and referrers to do their utmost to raise this contribution from statutory or private funds.
Information for Referrers
Assessments and Allocation of Beds
- If you have a client in mind please make contact with us and make sure you are sent or e-mailed all the relevant information to explain to your client what we are offering. In urgent cases we can take all the referral information over the phone.
- You can also download all the necessary forms and info from our website: www.inishfree.org.uk
- If there is a vacancy, please ask your client to ring us as soon as possible, to fill out the application form or do it with them, and to send it to us together with your referral form.
- Please include your risk assessment and care plan/support plan to give us an idea of the vulnerability of your client. If you cannot include these, please let us know why.
- We will offer your client an assessment as soon as we have received all the necessary information.
An assessment is usually not available until clients are clean and sober.
We will arrange a visit if clients are accompanied by a worker if they are still using.
- The client will meet with the counsellor on duty and a full assessment will be done. A current trainee might be part of the assessment if appropriate.
- If the outcome is positive, the client may be invited to stay if all other paperwork has been sorted.
- If we do not have a bed available, we will advise of other options and put them on a waiting list.
- If it is not possible to make a decision immediately after the assessment we will let you know about the outcome within the next 24 hours.
- If we decide not to offer your client a bed we will let them know the reasons for this. We will let you know about the outcome of the assessment. We will inform them of their right to appeal against our decision.
- We cannot guarantee beds at any time and will not reserve a bed for your client, as they might always change their mind at the last minute. If we can make an exception to this rule we will let you know.
Allocation of Beds/ Prioritising Applications
Priority will be given to clients:
· who are at high risk of relapsing because of inadequate housing
· who meet the eligibility criteria of Inishfree
· who have shown commitment to their own recovery before applying to Inishfree (working with their own drug agency, keeping arrangements)
· who have taken on the requirements agreed prior to assessment or after assessment has taken place, (i.e. ringing in).
Selection will also take into account the current clients' group profile i.e. age, drug/alcohol, criminal convictions, vulnerability of individual trainees etc.
If the initial assessment does supply enough information as to whether or not the client is suited to the programme a trial period will be agreed. The daily reviews will record any observations, which show the client's progress and suitability.
Eligibility
You need to be:
- 18 years of age or older (male of female)
- in need of safe accommodation and the support offered at Inishfree
- in need of a structured programme
- suffering from addiction
- fully detoxed
- clean and sober for 24 hours on admission (drug tested on arrival)
- committed to living life without drugs and alcohol

Waiting List
If there are no beds available we will put an assessed client on the waiting list or refer them to another project and tell them to ring in at agreed intervals to support them until a bed becomes available. If there is more than one person on the waiting list the first vacancy will be allocated to the person who is the most vulnerable and meets the above criteria best.
